You may be wondering why I have a section entitled “Art” I’m not trying to turn the site into a high brow coffeehouse, I am simply putting up a few instances of artwork that are directly related to tobacco.
You will find a lot of vintage advertisements, Joe camel, and the work of Milton Bernal a Cuban artist who paints on mixed media where tobacco is actually part of the canvas.
The vintage advertisements are fun to look at and could be considered as art in its own right. The Joe camel stuff, even though every antismoking zealot will squeal that its propaganda aimed at children, it is actually some very good representations of contemporary art.
The Milton Bernal work speaks for itself, as the media itself is the most unique aspect of the actual work.
